Learning : Class Discussion
STRATEGY: Class Discussion

When you know that an assigned reading will be discussed in class, use the “60-second” note card. This will not only help your class discussion, but also strengthen your understanding of the material.

Materials you will need:
    1)The Discussion Notes Template

    2) 4 different colored highlighter pens

While reading, apply the appropriate color highlighting to selected parts of the reading.
For example: While you are reading, if you stumble across information that looks like it supports the thesis(main idea) highlight that information with the ORANGE highlighter.
Follow the same idea with all 4 sections of the Discussion Notes template.

After you have completed the reading, go back and review the reading one color at a time. Paraphrase the highlighted information onto the appropriately colored areas of your Discussion Notes template.
