STRATEGY: Class Discussion
When you know that an assigned reading will be discussed in class, use the “60-second” note card. This will not only help your class discussion, but also strengthen your understanding of the material.
While reading, apply the appropriate color highlighting to selected parts
of the reading.
For example: While you are reading, if you stumble across
information that looks like it supports the thesis(main idea) highlight that information with the ORANGE highlighter.
Follow the same idea with all 4 sections of the Discussion Notes template.
After you have completed the reading, go back and review the reading
one color at a time. Paraphrase the highlighted information onto the
appropriately colored areas of your Discussion Notes template.
